About the Event

The seventh NSTI Festival is set to be a groundbreaking event, showcasing the brightest young minds and innovative projects from across the UAE. One of the highlights of the festival is the sixth 'Emirates Young Scientist Competition,' which has seen a remarkable surge in participation. The number of registered projects has increased significantly from 217 in 2018 to a staggering 3,966 in 2024, reflecting a growing interest in scientific research among students. This year's competition features projects across four main fields: Technology, Biological and Ecological Sciences, Chemistry, Physical and Mathematical Sciences, and Social and Behavioural Sciences. The top 100 projects will compete at the NSTI Festival. In keeping with the UAE's National Agenda for Entrepreneurship and SMEs, the NSTI Festival will also host the 'KIDSPRENEUR' competition, aimed at fostering entrepreneurial spirit among young children. Additionally, 'The Next Founder Competition' will provide a platform for undergraduate and postgraduate students to present their innovative business ideas.

Role: Lead Judge Admin and Operational Support Coordinator

As a lead administrative assistant and judge assistant at the NSTI Festival, I played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the event. My responsibilities included:

On-Site Responsibilities

• Scheduling Judging Rounds: I coordinated the judges' schedules, ensuring efficient use of their time and a fair evaluation process for all participants.
• Assisting Judges: I provided support to the judges throughout the day, helping them with administrative tasks and answering any questions they may have had.
• Managing Grades: At the end of each day, I collected the judges' grade cards and entered the grades into the system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Leading a Team: I supervised a team of four administrative assistants, assigning tasks, following up on their progress, and evaluating their performance.
• Providing Operational Support: In addition to my administrative duties, I also contributed to the overall operation of the festival. I assisted with crowd control and stage activities during the evening events, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
