The Greening Education Hub, hosted by the UAE Ministry of Education under the theme 'Legacy from the Land of Zayed,' made history at COP28 as the first-ever education-focused pavilion hosted by a COP presidency. Operating over 13 days at Expo City Dubai, the facility welcomed more than 18,000 visitors, including global policymakers, academic leaders, and youth delegates. Structured around four core action pillars—Greening Schools, Greening Curriculum, Greening Capacities, and Greening Communities—the Hub featured an intensive schedule of over 250 international and national sessions. It served as a dynamic epicenter for ministerial roundtables, masterclasses, and green technology exhibitions aimed at embedding climate resilience into global education systems. Delivering a flawless operational environment at this scale required rigorous cross-functional coordination, real-time risk mitigation, and highly synchronized stakeholder management to ensure that world leaders, educators, and students experienced a secure and impactful event.

Role: Requirements Manager

As the Requirements Manager for the Greening Education Hub at COP28 UAE, I led the end-to-end management of operational and stakeholder requirements, acting as the primary liaison between venue teams, service providers, and event management to ensure successful delivery throughout the event lifecycle.

On-Site Responsibilities

• Requirements Tracking: Gathered, documented, tracked, and coordinated requirements across IT, workshops, protocol, safety, stage management, and pavilion operations.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Served as the primary liaison between external stakeholders, venue operations teams, service providers, and event management to maintain strict delivery schedules.
• Workshop Coordination: Managed workshop operational requirements, coordinating room setups, technical support, scheduling, speaker readiness, and attendee experience.
• Stage Oversight: Oversaw stage management activities to ensure the seamless execution of presentations, live panel discussions, VIP appearances, and educational programming.
• IT & Technical Readiness: Coordinated infrastructure and technical requirements, including complex audiovisual systems, network connectivity, presentation support, and operational readiness testing.
• VIP Protocol Support: Supported protocol operations for international dignitaries, VIPs, government ministers, and official delegations in strict compliance with guest management procedures.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Monitored health, safety, and operational compliance requirements, coordinating closely with venue security to maintain a secure environment.
• Pavilion Operations: Managed pavilion operations and venue readiness, verifying that facilities, physical infrastructure, and branding met approved design plans.
• Cross-Functional Problem Solving: Facilitated cross-functional coordination between operations, security, protocol, technical, and venue management teams to resolve real-time bottlenecks.
• Risk Mitigation: Tracked requirement delivery milestones, identified emerging risks, and implemented immediate corrective actions to protect daily operational continuity.
