Behind the Scenes: My Role at the IJSO

Country Coordinator

As a Country Coordinator for the 18th IJSO 2021, I facilitated communication and coordination between participants and organizers.
My responsibilities included:

  • Liaison Role: Acted as the primary link between country leaders, supervisors, the IJSO organizing committee, and the academic committee.
  • Daily Briefings: Conducted daily briefings with country leaders, providing guidance and updates throughout the event.
  • Board Meeting Support: Assisted with International Board Meetings, ensuring smooth communication and organization.
  • Exam Monitoring: Oversaw exam processes, ensuring compliance with protocols and addressing participant needs.
  • Guest Services: Provided protocol and guest services to enhance the experience for participants and delegates.

Serving as a Country Coordinator for the IJSO 2021 was a rewarding opportunity to support young scientists and facilitate international collaboration. The role strengthened my skills in communication, coordination, and event management.
